The City of Elliot Lake Fire Service provides a 24-hour service made up of a Fire Chief, Emergency Management Coordinator, who is also Administrative Assistant to the Chief, a Chief Fire Prevention Officer and a composite force of 34 firefighters; 8 fulltime firefighters and 25 volunteer firefighters.
The service has two fire pumpers and one 95-foot platform aerial ladder fire truck. In addition, our service includes two 4x4 trucks and an ATV used for bush fires, a 16-foot boat for use in search and rescue and cottage lot protection, as well as a Chief's car.
The Elliot Lake Fire Service has a very active fire prevention program in the community. There are in excess of 18 various programs offered through the service, a few of which are listed below.
